Those who were involved in the production of military hardware became known as WOWs which stood for Women Ordnance Workers. These women, symbolized by Rosie the Riveter, wore hardhats and coveralls, and pulled the same load as many of the men they replaced. They operated heavy cranes, milling machines, and countless other heavy tools that most women had never heard of before the war. The WOWs also bagged gunpowder, made weapons, crated ammunition and did whatever else was asked of them so that their fathers, husbands, sons, and sweethearts could win the war and come back home again. "We Can Do It", The "Rosie the Riveter" movement is credited with helping push the number of working women to 20,000,000 during four years of war, a 57 percent jump from 1940. About 300,000 women were employed.

Antique Vintage 1920s 1930s Pale Blue Rayon Dress w/ Bow and Lace Yoke AS IS. Here we have an adorable late 1920s early 1930s pale blue or periwinkle rayon dress. This dress has a sweet bow at the center neck and lace panels on the upper yoke. The dress is short sleeves and has a waist band that the blouse and skirt are gathered into. There is attached ties at the waist to tie it snug. There is a left side seam opening that once had snaps for closure but some are missing. This piece is in good vintage condition. The only issues are at the side seam opening as pictured. There are no major stains or holes to note. Antique Art Deco Large Girl / Small Women’s Dress Waist 24″

Authentic and not a remake. This lovely dress dates to the 1930's or 40's. The green print features houses. The green fabric is light weight. The brown fabric feels like taffeta. This buttons in the back and also zips up the side. Only issues I see is the last brown portion is slightly lighted than the other brown portions, especially towards the bottom. I took quite a few photos so please make sure to view them. This was home sewn. Please know your measurements that you will be needing and use mine as a guide. Shoulder to shoulder = 15 inches Bust = 36 inches Waist = a little over 24 inches Length = 45.75 inches This goes past the knees. I believe it would fit a teen or a small adult. Oh yes, it does have shoulder pads. I almost forgot.
