I absolutely adore vintage fashion plates and magazines. I get the most scrumptious ideas for unique garments. This garden/longe set is exactly that. Made from a length of vintage high thread count cotton in soft butter yellow with a jade green window pane check, this set features a Peter Pan collar and keyhole neck bound with jade green bias trim. A matching art deco early plastic (maybe colt) button sets just below the keyhole to hold the removable garden apron with a patch pocket big enough to hold a few items. The short sleeves have run back cuffs and the pants have the most gorgeously wide legs and a wide elastic band waist. There’s LOTS of hand sewing on these garments. Not a serger in sight. These are not mass produced or from big brands that produce cheaply made dresses overseas. I have been making vintage reproduction clothing for over 20 years. Each garment is made by hand, by me in the kitchen of my cottage in Southern Vermont. They are meant to look and feel exactly like they would be real vintage items. I’m not trying to fool anyone, but if you didn’t tell your friends it was newly made, they wouldn’t know ;) I have occasionally seen my garments being sold in social media selling groups as authentic. I’ve had to break the news to sellers more than once.
