Vintage 1980’s Issey Miyake Cream Suit with Shorts

As you can imagine, the Issey Miyake boutiques were peerless in display - laying everything flat, which actually showed off the construction far better than any dumb hanger. But that figures. A lightweight wool gabardine suit in ivory of pleated shorts (in front and back) and origami-esque jacket. Cut to form almost caped shoulders and double breasted, we would style this very much the same way we would with Alaia, despite being two very different aesthetics; painfully high caged ankle boots and pulled-back hair. Tagged a modern 6, we find this to be true to contemporary sizing with shorts having a 24" high waist and 20" total length. Excellent condition with no flaws.
