Vintage 1960’s Geoffrey Beene Plisse Halter Dress

You ever watch MSNBC? Does the name Stephanie Ruhle ring a bell? She is our modern Babe Paley - with a very Sutton Place vibe, all old-school hair and glossy, bare shoulders on TV. She is just so early 60s, so -this- dress. Geoffrey Beene's heavy cotton and wool plisse in perenially popular black with a single massive pocket. Inset halter neckline with attached ties on either side, this is a wrap dress with a very proper, shaped skirt. This goes day to cocktail party with no added b.s. Lined in black taffeta, we would do this with Repetto Camille ballets with a tiny heel and no bag. Everything goes into the pocket. Bust measures 34", waist 26" and length 42". Excellent condition.
