Vintage Frank Masandrea RIP 1982 Resort Collection Cotton Madras Plaid Midi Dress. Gorgeous sleeveless light cotton madras plaid dress in a mix of blue green black white and purple. Practical roomy pockets at each side seam. Dress has a white bibbed front bodice adorned with tucks and button down center front placket down to midsection. A white wrap around tie creates a sweet bow around the neck. Seamstress’ hand stitched hem. This dress is the best of the 1980's being inspired from the 1950's. It has a classic “secretary geek” look to it, that would look amazing with the right styling! A real rare vintage treasure! I am sharing a photo I was so happy to find of this exact dress being modeled at Frank Masandrea's 1982 Resort Collection's Runway Presentation (rehearsal most likely). (Pic # 22) I see no size tag but based on approximate measurements I’ve determined a Bust size = 36” Waist size = 29” Approximate flat measurements are as follows: Front bust (side seam to side seam) - 18” Front waist (side seam to side seam) - 14.5” Front center neck to bottom hem - 36.5” Back center neck to bottom hem - 40” The dress is in very good condition but I must mention a few minor issues. 1- There is a small area with a little wear on the inside of the button placket near the buttonhole at front waist midsection. (please review close up pic 17 for reference). 2- Also there is a small darned repair to a small tear that was on the back of the skirt. A small piece of plaid fabric taken from the skirt's inner side seam was used to assist with this repair and which makes the repair almost undetectable unless viewing very closely. (Please review my pics for perspective as to where the repair is on the skirt (pic# 18) ,a close up (pic# 19) & the underside of the repair (pic# 20) ) 3- There are what looks like some small "snags" in the skirt fabric but I am uncertain if this is actual damage or just a part of the madras plaid fabric's natural makeup. Please review photo # 21 for an example of this. Although dress has no obvious staining or odors, dress IS vintage and would possibly benefit from a dry cleaning or delicate hand wash and press. I will leave this up to the new owner to decide how they would like to care for it. Please review pics. Item is sold AS IS.
