DATING TO THE EARLY EDWARDIAN YEARS TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION FASHIONED OF A BEAUTIFUL COTTON AND WOOL BLEND BROADCLOTH WITH SATIN SHINING PINSTRIPED DETAILING AND A FLORAL PRINT RUNNING THROUGHOUT. THE BODICE HOOKS CLOSED IN THE FRONT AND IS HIDDEN BY THE FABRIC ATOP WITH A WHITE SILK DE CHINE YOKE AND STIFF HIGH COLLAR. THE SLEEVES ARE FITTED AND ARE UNUSUAL WITH DOUBLE PUFFS AND DOUBLE BANDS AT THE BOTTOM. INTERIOR BODICE IS LINED IN COTTON WITH PINK BONING. SKIRTING IS IN MATCH FABRIC WITH A FULL RUFFLE IN THE SNOW WHITE SILK DE CHINE. HOOK AND EYES CLOSE THE REAR SKIRTING WITH THE BACK IN A TRAIN. CONDITION: THIS PIECE HAS A VERY PRISTINE APPEARANCE. THERE ARE TWO LIGHT BROWN STAINS BENEATH THE WAISTBAND ON THE FRONT SKIRTING WITH A FAINT DRIP STAIN ON THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE SKIRTING. MATCHING FABRIC WAS ADDED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BODICE TO KEEP IT TUCKED INTO THE WAISTBAND. INNER BONES HAVE SEVERAL PINHEADS OF RUST STAINING, UNSEEN FROM THE EXTERIOR.
