Vintage Gloria Vanderbilt American Royal Jeans Slim Fit Made in BRITISH CROWN COLONY OF HONG KONG. High waist. Ankle zippers. NOT a stretch denim. Size 16. A vintage size 16 runs different/smaller than a modern day 16. Please see measurements. Waist measures 16” from side to side. Rise (crotch seam to top of waist) is 13 1/2”. Hips (measurement from side to side across where bottom of fly starts) is 21 1/2”. Inseam (crotch seam to end of leg) is 29 1/2”. End of leg measures 6” from side to side. 10” up from end of leg, leg measures 7 3/4”. All pics are of the same one pair of jeans. See all 12 pics for details & enlarge each pic for a closer look. My opinion is that these are exceptionally nice. But, see the pics and you decide. Pic 11 was taken in the shade under a tree (thus the shadows or bright areas). Some pics were taken in bright sunlight. I’d say that the darker looking pics are closest to in person color. Estimate circa 1980s as they were made in British Crown Colony of Hong Kong. If you collect, you’ll know.
