Vintage 50's Style made in the 80's by MAINSTREAM. NOS Black & White 1 pc Swimsuit with full circular skirt. Vintage size 10 which now fits a contemporary swimwear size 4 - 6. Bust will fit size 32 - 34. Thus I will classify it as contemporary Size S. Length of suit stretches as needed to fit wearer. The fabric is Nylon 80% and Lycra 20% like early 80's dance wear and disco wear! This is a really cute suit on. It is constructed like a leotard and has a built in soft bra and attached full circle skirt over trunks that are cut high on the leg - again like a dancer's French cut leotard. This creates a very flattering long line look on the legs. This suit has a Betty Grable pin-up look. It would actually be comfortable to swim in and would be very cute to wear to a pool party with black and white high heeled sandals and a big straw hat. The soft material is comfortable to wear! There is no uncomfortable boning to poke and prod the wearer's delicate soft tissue! MAINSTREAM managed to construct a flattering 50's look out of comfortable 80's swimwear materials. The combination of the 50's look with 80's comfort makes this a very desirable style! Like a leotard this material stretches and molds and fits the body with flattering negative ease. Length of body is 23.5 inches measured on a straight line from highpoint over bust to the length of the middle of the crotch. Bust is 13" from pit to pit x 2 = 26" but is designed to fit with negative ease. This will fit 32 - 34" bust sizeWaist is 11" x 2 = 22 " but will stretch to fit a size small proportionatelyHips are 13" x 2 = 26" but will stretch to fit a size small proportionately Skirt is 11" long from waist to hem. All these measurements stretch over the wearer's body and this suit is designed to fit with negative ease. This swimsuit fits just like a dancer's size S leotard. I am a dancer and I wear size S in all common brands of leotards such as Danskin and Capezio. And this suit fits me perfectly. I also wear a size 4 in modern swimsuits by makers like J. Crew, Ralph Lauren, and Michael Kors. This suit fits me exactly like these modern swimsuits fit in size 4. This swimsuit is new old stock. NOS. It has never been worn and is in perfect like new condition. It is a rare and lucky find ! Very flattering and very pretty!
