This is an adorable vintage angora sweater by MGR (Merry Go Round.) Marked a size M, but more like a modern XS or S - 35" chest. Red. 70% angora rabbit hair, 30% nylon. Made in Hong Kong. I believe it dates to the 80s. The fabric is kitten soft - so fuzzy and furry. Purrrr! It has a beautiful fiber halo, and it's luxuriously tactile. Cropped close fit - very coquette! Pearlized candy pink ball buttons dodwn the front. Long sleeves with ribbed cuffs. Wide ribbed band at waist. In excellent vintage condition Immaculately clean and ready to wear. Just reduced: Gorgeous Black Velvet Swing Cape out of the late 1930s or the 1940s. Shoulders are gently padded, a feature usually associated with 40s clothing but padded shoulders started appearing when the late Thirties clothes began to look like the Forties.
Lined with a heavy rayon or silk twill fabric. I think ermine was used a lot in this period. Four velvet buttons, just below the collar close this coat.
