1860’s Gold Silk Ballgown Skirt Antique
This was once part of a two piece 1860’s gold civil war era ballgown. Although it has imperfections it still retains its grandeur. There are scattered stains and some loose pleating. Notice in the photos of the back. The right side pleating is still in place while the left side pleating has loosened and come out. It has age related wear. Notice the wear to the waistband. There is heavy wear where it closes. It has a musty old trunk smell and is missing some of its hooks and eyes. It is lined with a stiffened cotton. The waist is25 inches. From the waist band to the front hem is 39 inches and from the waist band in the back to the hem is 55 inches.
