Bunny would sometimes go to church. Not because she was particularly religious, but she’d always believed in a higher power. As a little girl she would pray for good hair, for a cute date to the drive-in movies, and to the picture of Elvis hanging above her bed. Today, as she walked into the small chapel off Dixie Lane in her Sunday best, she felt a sense of dread. A bead of sweat rolled down her temple. Is this outfit a little ~too~ short for church? Had she had one too many glasses of champagne last weekend? Had Elvis really been dead for almost fifty years?
