ANTIQUE 1930’S WOMAN’S WOOL SERGE TWILL SWAG COAT SATIN LINED IMMACULATE COND
I am listing some vintage clothing from an estate. This is a woman's swag coat from the 1930's. The interior of this has a label from Exclusives by Leonard's with the address 47 Asylum St. Hartford, Connecticut. This is a very well made charcoal gray worsted serge overcoat. The description of the color is difficult to arrive at because when you look closely there are numerous colored threads including blue, green and purple, but the overall color appears as what I would call charcoal gray tweed. This beautifully tailored swag coat is completely lined in a mauve colored satiny silk. The silk is sewn on to an additional wool lining for added warmth. The coat has two very deep silk lined pockets. The coat closes with three large buttons are covered in the same worsted fabric as that from which the coat is made. The sleeves are gusseted. There are other tailoring tricks used to add comfort and ease of movement. The coat has a deep shawl collar. The following measurements were taken with the coat buttoned closed and laying flat. Pit to pit 23" Sleeve length pit to cuff 16" Shoulder to cuff 19" Overall length measured from the center seam under the collar to hem 42"
