An authentic 1880s Victorian Basque bodice crafted from rich burgundy maroon silk velvet. The interior is fully boned. In fair antique condition: the structure remains sound, though there is significant surface wear/balding to the velvet pile in high-friction areas and minor age-related staining.
This Original 1880's Opera Coat with Cape is a stunning Victorian piece perfect for all occasions. Made from silk velvet with a luxurious satin lining, this deep Black coat features fur cuff and collar detailing.
The outfit has a black velvet corset that has lacing in back as well as the front. Inside lining is a white cotton with 10 fabric covered whole baleen stays. Hand stitched as well as machine sewn. A regal 1880’s stunning black velvet with bodice, and inner corset vest and bustled trained skirt.
This overskirt is most likely part of a three piece dress from the 1860’s or 1870’s. It is made of a sheer silk floral print and is 35.5 inches in the front and is 43 inches in the back. Since there is red silk lining in the back placket the dress was probably constructed of red silk and had over fabric in this beautiful black sheer silk print. I have used pins to pleat the skirt at the back waist line to fit the form which has a 24 inch waist. There are a few tears and holes in the fabric at the top of the back close to the center seam. See photos. Otherwise the fabric is very good. It is rare for this fabric to be in this good of condition.
This beautiful lace was most likely created in Europe in the 19th century. It is a Victorian lace skirt panel which opens down the center. It has some loose thread and some wear but is overall good condition. It is beautiful. It is 26 inches wide and approximately 34 inches long.
The cream shantung fabric may be silk, but there is not a content label. Dramatic neckline beading in gray. Classic cut. Professional cleaning has not yet been attempted. No size label. When lying flat it is 17" at the bust, 14.5" at the waist and 39" from shoulder to bottom hem.
This 1880’s - 1890’s bodice is such a rich deep forest green. The mettalic embellishments are a rich contrast, It has a bust of 31 inches and a waist of 22 inches. It is missing all its buttons. Both elbows have some worn places with holes and three is a patch on one elbow. Even with all its antique patina it makes a lovely display.
