Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 DESCRIPTION This is a sexy vintage dress from the late 70s made in the USA by New Leaf by Samir. It would make a great disco costume! The material is a semi sheer polyester crepe that is black. The main body of the dress is lined in a second layer of the crepe material, although the sleeves are unlined and slightly sheer. The dress has a high collar that is accented with shiny black sequins, and there is also a beaded fringe that hangs down from the collar. Below the collar, there is sheer lace mesh. The dress has a gathered design and an asymmetrical hem. The collar closes with two buttons at the back of the neck. There is an open slit below that, and at the bottom of the lace mesh, there is a zipper. SIZING The tag labels this a size 5/6, but vintage sizes tend to run smaller than modern sizes. I believe this dress is closer to a modern size 2 (Extra Small). The actual measurements are as follows: Bust: 16.5" across, underarm to underarm (33" around. There is some flexibility here because of the open slit in the back.) Shoulders: 13" across, seam to seam Sleeves: 23" from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve Waist: 13" across (26" around, measured at the narrowest part of the dress) Hips: 18" across (36" around) Length: 43" down the center of the back, starting from the base of the collar and going to the lowest point of the hem. Some parts of the hem are shorter than this because of the asymmetrical cut. Note: These are the actual measurements of the garment, so please leave yourself room for comfort of movement. All measurements were taken with the item laying flat. The flat measurements were doubled to give an approximate measurement around. CONDITION This dress is in excellent vintage condition.
