This adorable handmade crochetted granny squarevest was made my my aunt in the 1970s.It was put away in my mothers cedar chest until recently.I believe it was made for a teenager. It was made to go over a blouse ( a popular '70s look) but many girls wore them with nothing underneath. There is the same granny square on both sides. The rest of the body is made from a rose colored yarn trimmed with a creamy white.The squares themselves are done in bold shades of red and blue. It measures as follows: 28" around (14" on each side), 14" from top of shoulder to bottom of vest; Shoulder "straps" are 2" across and it is 4" from shoulder seam to main body; there is 4" from bottom of underarm to side bottom of vest.
