This is a really cute boho chic vintage hand crocheted capelet, possibly from the 1970s. Black. Hand made. No labels Lacy openwork crochet with flower motifs. So pretty! Probably best for XS, S, M. I believe it is crocheted of fine cotton thread. It closes in the front with three crochet covered buttons. About 18" long from shoulder. Please note it is a capelet - there are no sleeves. Very chic over a sleeveless dress or top. In excellent vintage condition, with no damage. Immaculately clean and ready to wear. From a smoke-free home.

Thinning and wear on the silk lining most notably at the back of the neck and front ends. There's two feet on one side and only one on the other, though there doesn't look to be a tear where one might be missing; it may have just been made that way.

Antique Victorian Black Mourning Capelet With Ruffle Neck

The material is heavy weight with a subtle pattern on the outside and a satin lining. It has a stiff feel. There is a small worn spot on the collar on the outside and a bigger one on the inside. The ruffle collar is almost a net fabric in reasonably good condition. One spot seems frayed. Please see photos. Measurements lying flat: neck about 15 3/4”, length 18 1/4”, diameter 37”.
