This exquisite vintage Bob Mackie evening gown is a complete show stopper. It features a stunning hourglass silhouette with a gentle mermaid flare at the hem, and the entire dress is adorned with gorgeous red ribbon lace and sequins throughout. The sweetheart neckline is accentuated with large, statement satin bows along the off-the-shoulder sleeves, and the skirt trails slightly in the back with an elegant sweep. The rich, embellished lace fabric is lined with a nude layer underneath to give this dress even more depth and texture. The hem is lined with pleated satin for a finished look and falls to floor length in the front. This gown closes with a zipper in the back, and the bodice is boned and lined for support and a streamlined look. Bob Mackie is a couture designer well known for his amazing gowns which often feature extensive beading and embellishments. He designed for icons such as Cher, Lucille Ball, Tina Turner, and Diana Ross among others. A different copy of this gown has been displayed in various museum exhibits. Size: M/L Waist: 30"Bust: 40"Hips: 40"Length in front: 58.5"Length in back: 62.5" Condition: This gown is in excellent condition and looks to be in mint condition when worn. There are some very minor frayed edges in the lace in the underarm area which has been expertly tacked down. This is unnoticeable unless inspected very closely, and it may be the natural edge of the fabric when the dress was first made (see last photo for a closeup).
