Item Tag 37 1/4"

An Unknown Manufacturer, Bust 38, Polyester and Lurex Knit, Floral Print, Sleeveless Dress, Matching Jacket and Belt. There are no manufacturer, country of origin, or date of manufacture given. There are tags for lot, size and care. The polyester and lurex knit fabric has, basically, no stretch. There are no underarm stains, worn or thin spots and no patching. I did not see any snags in the fabric. All the jacket buttons are there; there are no spares. A slip or some sort of liner is suggested. There are crocheted thread lingerie strap holders and belt loops. Dress closes with a zipper, hook and thread eye. I am dating this dress and jacket to the later 1960s but it could be very early 1970s. Alterations: The dress was altered at some point and the seams trimmed. You cannot let it out but you can take it in to give it more shape. The hem has 1 3/4 inch of fabric and then seam binding. It may be possible to lower the hem and add a false hem. I have hand washed the dress, jacket and belt and hung them to dry in the North Carolina sun! However, the care tag says dry clean only. She is 17" from her Nap to Waist. She has narrow shoulders and is difficult to fit at times. She stands about 5' 7". When purchasing any garment, follow the measurements not the size. For example, a top that is 40" in the bust area will not fit a 40" bust...it will be tight. A 42" top will fit better.
