Slinky metallic knit cocktail gown from Byblos. High scoop neckline and full back makes it bra-friendly. Pullover style. The fabric is a knit and has some stretch, but do not assume infinity. Sexy 28 1/2" slit up the left side for ease in walking. TO NOTE: The sleeves are extremely long. I don't know if they were meant to be styled by pushing them up for a rusched look, or intended to be shortened by the purchaser. I purchased this dress at Henri Bendel in Manhattan back in the day when Henri Bendel was the real Henri Bendel - maybe 1970's or 80's -- , not today's accessories brand chain. (Yes, I am THAT old.) I had asked the sales associate about it, but never got a real answer, just "Fashion to your liking." I show the sleeves both ways in the photos. The color is a gorgeous royal blue glittery metallic - it reminds me of a sparkly evening sky. The color may be a little less bright than in some photos. Please allow for any color display differences on different monitors. I try to describe the color as accurately as I can, but such are my photography skills. 'Sorry that only floor shots are shown. I didn't try to fit this small size on my mannequin. I forget when I purchased it, but I am guessing somewhere in the 1970's - 80's. Condition: excellent. No stains, tears, weird smells, etc. It has been carefully stored in a smoke-free, pet-free home. I bought it a number of years ago, and I don't remember ever wearing it - it was probably a bit small even then (I was hopeful with the knit.) The thigh-high slit also made it inappropriate for holidays with the family or the mother-in-law, or events in my profession. Unfortunately, I am no longer this size, and cleaning out. Otherwise, I'd keep it. I hope someone else can enjoy this dress at some fab event or dress-to-impress Zoom session. Brand: BYBLOS. Made in Italy. Size on the label: Italian 38, which is an XS size today, but vintage sizes are often smaller than today's. Please see exact measurements below for best fit guide. Fabric: 63% rayon, 20% polyester, 10% nylon, 7% spandex. Dry clean only. MEASUREMENTS: these are the measurements of the actual garment, measured with the garment laying flat, i.e. double for bust, waist, hips. It is best to compare to a garment that fits you well of a similar fabric and style. Again, the knit fabric has some stretch, but is not infinite. Shoulders at the top: 15 1/2" (this is a best estimate as the top is one piece with the body of the dress, and without seams from wrist to wrist.) Bust, armpit-to-armpit: 15" Sleeve: 32 1/2" NOTE: VERY LONG, as described above. To be rusched? Shortened?
