This dress feels lux. Its one of those that you can just tell, it is very well-made and highly tailored. Seriously, they don't make clothes like this anymore. Shirtwaist dress, which McMullen was known for. The buttons are fabric-coved and square. Buttons 3/4 of the way down, and buttons on the sleeve cuffs. Two welt pockets on skirt portion of dress. Elastic waist with a hook and eye at the waist. Belt loops but no belt. The best part of this dress is the BIG notched collar! The fabric content is unknown. It kind of feels like a cotton poplin to me, because it is a little sturdier/structured, but still soft. FUN print! Late 1970s (the labels are actually interesting . . . the McMullen label is definitely a transition into more of the blocky/geometric typography that would bring us to the 80s, but the "Made in Hong Kong" label corresponds with their earlier labels both in styling and construction. It definitely seems like this dress was made in a time when they were in transition with their labels!). Labeled a vintage size 14. I estimate it to be a medium based on measurements. Measurements are as follows, in inches, laying flat: Pit to pit: 19.5Waist: 12 inches unstretchedWaist: 15 inches max comfortably stretched. Hips: 21 (measured at bottom of welt pocket)Shoulder to hem: 41 My measurements are 36/29/38 and this fit me well. Any questions, just ask! This is truly a very NICE piece! Quality construction. Great condition.
